Dreams (9/26/23)

Little girl dreams
Innocence
Sweetness
The whole world out there
Adventure
Mystery
Waiting for her to traipse through it

Except her dreams
Are smaller
Less grand
Some other girl can take on the world
A soulmate
Babies
Loving eyes, sweet kisses her whole life

They came true, her dreams
Her Love by her side
Babies in their laps
His hand holding hers in every season
Hazel eyes
Soft lips
Dreaming about their future together

Dreams morphed into nightmare
Cancer
Terminal
No hope, no dream for survival
Hands clasped tighter
Kisses urgent
His love shone bright for her until his eyes closed

No one ever dreams of loneliness
Grief
Sadness
Scared to look at life too closely
Harsh reality
Panic mode
The scream building inside her that can’t get out

When dreams are over what is left?
