“Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol

From the time Jason was first diagnosed, this song has been swirling around and around in my head. It has been around for awhile…since 2006 I believe…but the first time I heard it post-diagnosis it took on a way deeper meaning for me and I have not been able to let it go since.

The chorus from the song “If I lay here…If I just lay here…Would you lie with me and just forget the world?” was exactly what I wanted to do each and every day. Just pull the covers up over our heads and pretend like nothing else existed.

And then the verse that hits me every time “All that I am…All that I ever was…Is here in your perfect eyes, they’re all I can see”. Absolutely renders me speechless.
